Have I shown you my Red Rum crochet cushion?  I designed this cushion to help launch the new Aran weight yarn by Deramores – Deramores Studio Aran. I’m so pleased with it!  If your sofa, chaise lounge or settee is looking a bit dull and uninspiring then this is the cushion for you! And, AND, A N D, the pattern is free!!!!

Deramores Studio Aran is such a lovely yarn to work with and makes this cushion cover really cosy.  The yarn is as gorgeous as the DK version and has a lovely range of colours to choose from.

The front of the cushion is made from four squares with a jazzy black and white circle at each centre.  Only basic stitches are used, there is one round where you’ll be working into front and back loops, and the frilly edging of the circles requires a little concentration, but, overall the cushion is a quick and fun make. The back is worked in three parts, starting with a black and white stripey band onto which you’ll work basic rows in red, then you’ll work a smaller piece in red.  The two pieces are joined to the front, slightly overlapping, to form an envelope cushion cover – just slot the cushion inner in!
