Oh my goodness – today is the day that my latest book is OUT!!!  My Block by Block Crochet book has hit the shelves!  I’m so excited!!!

I began work on this book at the start of the first lockdown in March 2020.  It was a huge help to have something to be busy with even though I found it a struggle to focus at times.  All through last spring and summer I worked on it designing blocks and motifs and picking colour palettes.  I’m so pleased with the finished book and I’m hoping you are all going to enjoy the patterns. 

The book is full of 6″ crochet squares and motifs inspired by patchwork blocks – lots of lovely geometric designs.  It was great fun coming up with the patterns and the colour combinations!

The book is in UK crochet terminology and all the patterns have a crochet chart.  Plus, there is a UK to US conversion chart at the back as a reminder.

There are 49 different designs and 4 projects.  Most of the designs are for 6″ blocks with a few 12″ and 2″ blocks too.  Plus, there are a few other geometric motifs like hexagons, diamonds and triangles to make as well.

Honestly, there are so many layout options with these blocks.  If you google patchwork quilt layout ideas you’ll be bombarded with ideas!  I’ve included one layout idea for each pattern but you can also mix the blocks together and create some really cool designs.  Like in my favourite project in the book, the This Way Up cushion, which I’ll post about soon.
